ESCAPAHOLICS expeditions
deserts, jungles, mountain
join us exploring somewhere new
Hi ! My name is Jacob and I’m an escapaholic.
Its been 284 days since my last adventure.
A new set of walking trainers, a pair of finest anti-leech socks and strapping on a good sense of humour together with other escapaholics. Sneaking through the Vin Moch tunnels; cycling through jungles visiting ancient ruins and then our highlight of sub-terranean and jungle expedition…and not just caves – I mean caves you can fly a plane in, or drink rice moonshine, whilst bedding down for the night, underground. It was like the lost world emerging from the jungle into gargantuan sink holes draped in lush rainforest, inaccessible to the outside world. Liking it. Loving it. Loved it. Where next? My name is Jacob and I’m an escapaholic

- Taklamakan Desert, Xingjiang
A 14-day expedition of exploration and camel trekking through the heart of the Taklamakan Desert, tracing ancient Silk Road paths from Darya-Boyi to Mazar-Tagh. One of the world’s most remote sandscapes, with no roads, no villages—just shifting dunes, lost cities, and the rhythm of the caravan.
You’ll:
• Traverse over 200 km of untouched desert terrain
• Camp under star-filled skies in complete isolation
• Explore ruins of ancient Buddhist temples and Silk Road outposts
• Rely on camels and local guides to navigate this vast, unforgiving wilderness
A journey into the silence and mystery of the world’s second-largest shifting sand desert.

- Chadar River Trek, Zanskar Valley, Ladakh
A journey across the frozen Zanskar River in Ladakh, India.
Temperatures plunging to –25°C, navigate shifting ice sheets, snow-covered embankments, and surreal landscapes that change by the hour. Though conditions are harsh, the trek is manageable with preparation, and it is utterly unique: barefoot monks on ice, sledges gliding over glassy surfaces, cave camps, and a silence broken only by cracking ice. I have been meaning to come here for years…..
- About 10 days in all - early / late summer
- Sardinia
The Selvaggio Blu is Italy’s wildest and most demanding trek—a thrilling blend of mountaineering and Mediterranean magic.
Winding 40 km along Sardinia’s remote east coast, it plunges you into a raw wilderness of towering limestone cliffs, hidden coves, and goat trails carved into the rock. Expect abseils, exposed scrambles, and no water sources—just you, the sea, and the silence. It’s not just a hike; it’s a full-on expedition through one of Europe’s last untouched frontiers.
