ESCAPAHOLICS

Dartmoor

Hi! My name is Tom and I’m most definitely an escapaholic – and you can be too

Dartmoor is a great place for transition from a normal individual to an escapaholic. Whether your challenge is a cross country trek across this wild piece of the West Country or a corporate team leadership event, we can tailor the challenge and training accordingly.”

Escapaholics Dartmoor

Dartmoor has been an Escapaholics playground for many years. There are few places in southern Britain where you really can escape. This is wild country, swirling mists, craggy tours and treacherous bogs. Its not just about escaping, its about survival skills.

From leadership training, to day walks, to overnight wild camping or a weekend expeditions across the moor – we can tailor a trip to suit you.

Our Dartmoor adventures fit well into the Corporate Team Development sphere. Combined with Insight profiling and Motivational Maps, they help teams to find new directions of travel. Below are some example itineraries, though at Escapaholics we always plan bespoke programmes based on Clients’ required outcomes.

🕓    Example Itinerary

The adventure takes place over 2 days with a good level of fitness needed. This is a typical Escapaholics trip with team development based on the physical trial of a tough 35 mile walk over challenging terrain, sometimes (often) in inhospitable conditions. You will need to work as a team throughout, working on your own skills and initiative. We will of course be throwing in a few Escapaholic challenges.

Clients often ‘sponsor’ the adventure as part of the organisation’s own CSR objectives.

Arrive at The Manor Hotel 4pm https://www.manorandashburyresorts.co.uk/

The Manor Hotel offers the chance for team development and time for a team briefing, kit check and dinner/social.

6am Mini bus to Belstone for the first day’s trekking. Walk across the rugged north of the moor, enjoying spectacular scenery (or fog), majestic tors, river crossings and challenges to (semi civilised) campsite with showers and full facilities.

7am Second day of trekking to take us to the south of Dartmoor, ending at Ivybridge, for tea and medals!

We normally recommend that clients carry out a full Insights and Motivational Maps programme in advance of the adventure. This can be done with a 2 day workshop at a suitable venue, with a ‘what next’ follow up day to review and capture the learning.

This adventure itinerary provides rather more comfort, but still provides for the chance to explore this remote part of England, whilst tailoring team development programmes in a new environment, with a few escapaholic challenges thrown in, and all done with a ‘sense of humour.’
